6 Years Anniversary Full of Quitting

wp-1484672255759.png

Tbh I was pretty shocked when I just saw this. Did I really make an account 6 years ago on WordPress and then proceeded to make like 5 blogs or so, and quit them all? Kinda crazy to think about it, really. Especially when I think I started a bunch of websites before WP, and also blogger ones. I was everywhere, I tried everything, but wow, I don’t really have anything to show for it.

Originally I made a WordPress account because I wanted to have a blog to put daily writings (fiction) on it, which I did for a week, and then quit. Or maybe it was because I wanted to make games, visual novels, and started thinking of what group name for myself I’d want, and so on. I even made the blog too, with the name. They’re hidden, cause hahaha, no.

I also did one for when I wanted to be an author, and wanted to publish my stories and then sell them. I have since quit that and just put all the stories on my Archive of our Own account. Same for blogger, I know I did one for when I wanted to be an author (different name) of short stories, but heh. Also one blogger like this, for reviews. I also had another WordPress blog which was for reviews/posts of things I loved.

Thing is, when I feel stuff isn’t working for me I quit, delete, remove, and go my way. It’s for the best too. Will this blog be standing/existing in 5 years? I hope so, I’m being serious and putting huge amounts of work into it. Plus it was thanks to it that I met so many lovely bloggers, people in general.

So no, this isn’t going to be a deleted blog, it’ll stand either as a thing I’ll keep working on, or as a fossil, a stone, a rock, a memory of the past.

It’s crazy to think of all the time that has passed, this blog even got its name changed once I returned after a one year hiatus. But I’ll always strive to make it work.

Ramble ramble, I’m just really going down the memory lane, feeling nostalgic about all the things I’ve tried doing over the years, before I reached here, where I am. I grew and learnt with them, so I cherish all the misshaps and failures.

Thanks for sticking by me since I returned to blogging last year, it’s going to make a full year of constant blogging, a first for me, in February. I’m super excited! πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

  1. Good luck! You can do it c: Don’t push yourself too hard, or be too hard on yourself! I quit a bunch of stuff since a while ago, too.

Have you tried looking into wattpad? I haven’t tried it yet, but read an article about how it’s a way of earning money for your writing. Though I just looked it up and only certain people are eligible.

Nah, I’m just feeling nostalgic about all the decisions and things that didn’t work out that have led me here, to talkinf with you and others πŸ‘€βœ¨
Actually, I haven’t looked into Wattpad, no. Can they really earn money with it?? Waah :0
Man, if i was to mention everything I’ve tried, I’d have a mile long list, it’s why I only focused on blogs or websites I’ve done hah 😹
Now I’m wondering what you quit yourself, share the deets πŸ‘€πŸ‘€βœ¨

      • Ohhh awww c: heartsss

Looks like you need to be in the Wattpad Futures program, but idk how to get into it. They insert ads in between your stories apparently. I don’t use the platform myself but I just read about it c:

o well it’s so spicy & juicy & scandalous! not really. So the main reason was that committing to a blog is pretty hard and i never got past that initial hump. i used to have like an everything blog with tv shows & books & anime. also I wasn’t really interacting with the blog community like now so it was really lonely.

Naah, I don’t write enough fiction to really enter those type of programs. I might put the stories there too, just because having stories on only one website is never the best, in case it closes down heh
You sure looooveee them juicy ohohoho (Ν‘Β° ΝœΚ– Ν‘Β°)
Saaamee! The initial bump of having to fill up a blog, and etc is pretty hard, plus being consistent heh
          Awww /hugs
Definitely feel you about the lonely part, when I started off years ago I was way too shy to leave comments, I’d read and leave, but it makes so people don’t get to know you. Now I try to always leave comments if I read posts πŸ™
You could slowly bring back TV shows and books too, plenty of other anime bloggers do it~! πŸ‘Œ

  2. Ahaha, I function similarly; I’ve had my blog(s) for quite a few years, but I don’t use most of them, and this one is barely used. XD Anyway, 頑弡ってください!

    • I tend to either delete the ones I don’t like, or just make them private, if I don’t want them deleted, or not touch them and forget what email and password I used to make them lmao

  3. I started out with quite a lot of blogs too! But not as long as you >< Still not personally satisfied though so who knows what I'll do with my blog in the future.
Good luck, I'd love for you to keep going!

    • Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a quitter, or because I’m already 25 (almost 26 actually), or both things hahaha 😹😹😹
I get what you mean,,I’m not 100% satisfied with my blog either, we have to stay strong and continue onwards πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
Aww bb, thanks! Will definitely not stop unless I really hit a wall, so far I haven’t πŸ™πŸ™πŸ‘Œ

  4. Congrats on 6 years here! I just started following you last year and I’m looking forward to seeing how this blog continues to grow for you.

I’m a wannabe author who’s working on a novel (something I’ll never admit to IRL due to my incredible fear of failing, haha). I haven’t decided if I’ll share it or not when it’s finished, but If I do it’ll likely be through another blog I’ll create.

Oooooh! That’s super exciting, good luck with it and don’t give up, we learn so much from finishing stories!
Ooh, maybe you could try Wattpad too, there’s lots of options πŸ‘€βœ¨
Don’t worry about failing or admitting to it IRL, when you’re ready you’ll be there.
I love writing fiction and stories, but I don’t have the stamina to do it every day. I tried, really tried, and it wasn’t pretty afterwards, haven’t written fiction in 2 or so years, since then. So reallt, take your time and follow your own pace instead of others, like I did :’D
I was trying to do 1000-2000 words per day, and I’m just not that type of writer, at all. When I’m inspired I can do it, when I’m just lowkey energy if I write 100 words it’s a miracle, even for my blog. So yeah, discoved what works for you, and when you finish it, I’d love to read it! πŸ‘Œ

      • Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words πŸ™‚ I can only write when I feel like it. Some days I can write for hours, and sometimes I can go a few weeks without looking at my story. I’ll definitely let you know if I ever finish it/get brave enough to share it, haha. I’d love to read your stuff as well!

  5. I’m glad you can look back on every time you gave up and feel like it was worth something in the end. As long as you can learn from it all, and find the worth of sticking to something, the one thing that makes you want to keep trying, it all counts as a learning process.

Well done on nearly making it to a full year. I’m sure you can make it to two and beyond.

We learn from failures and mistakes, not from successes, so I figure I have a lot of experience when it comes to that 😹😹😹😹
      Thaaaanks 😘😘😘
Fff, hnng, aaah, I super appreciate that because I’m trying hard to make sure I do fill this year with posts too πŸ™
