Monthly Update: December 2016

To recapitulate what & why this is for:

So what will this entail? Just giving my progress on games, what I’m playing and how much I’m done, without any spoilers!, effectively removing any need for that useless page I had up~

Another function of this little thing, is to say what I’ve scheduled/is incoming in the next month, to wet the appetite x)

*:・゚✧Anime Spotlight: Deadman Wonderland Dub is Awesome

It looked like it would be a normal day for Ganta Igarashi and his classmates—they were preparing to go on a class field trip to a certain prison amusement park called Deadman Wonderland, where the convicts perform dangerous acts for the onlookers’ amusement. However, Ganta’s life is quickly turned upside down when his whole class gets massacred by a mysterious man in red. Framed for the incident and sentenced to death, Ganta is sent to the very jail he was supposed to visit.

But Ganta’s nightmare is only just beginning.

The young protagonist is thrown into a world of sadistic inmates and enigmatic powers, to live in constant fear of the lethal collar placed around his neck that is slowed only by winning in the prison’s deathly games. Ganta must bet his life to survive in a ruthless place where it isn’t always easy to tell friend from foe, all while trying to find the mysterious “Red Man” and clear his name, in Deadman Wonderland.

I’d never seen this anime tho I knew about it because it was a popular title, so the lovely Pink decided to rectify that with a rabb.it session and my god, am I glad I finally watched it! She’s a surprising big fan of dubs, so I was like “okay let’s see this train-wreck”, but I was pleasantly surprised that the dub was great.

This show is filled with swearing, of the kind I’ve never heard before on an anime, and I was super shook and amazed, AND I WISH MORE ANIME GOT THIS KIND OF TREATMENT BECAUSE WOW. Tho tbh, MC’s voice was kinda…not that good at first, but it grew on me.

Very Flawed Christmas DLC for Mystic Messenger

I was really excited when MM got the DLC, and I still am, but I’ve noticed there’s a lot of things that are standing out, in a bad way.

Cheritz is not using the same artist for the CG’s and the art does not hold up at all, nor does the coloring! The characters don’t even look like themselves to be honest, there’s just something highly off. Ditto for the coloring, hair, of them. While I’d noticed Cheritz used two artists for the main game, the second artist did only the side characters sprites, which was very noticeable because they tended to be 90% ugly. But that’s okay, they’re characters we don’t give a fuck about. But then we get our main boos this weirdly different? It just doesn’t sit right with me! I mean they got really weird proportions, hair doesn’t look the same, they have meat cleavers for hands, when it isn’t yaoi hands resembling crabs

*:・゚✧Anime Spotlight: Yuuri!!! on Ice has Made Me on Fire

Did you like that pun/title? Hehehe, it was fun to write it! 😼✨

But that’s right, YoI has finally ended and I screamed, like legit shrieks and screams, my voice cracked on that last episode. Before I delve into spoilers, I wanna talk about why I love this anime and why it’s been the highlight of this year, for me.

One of the most important ones is definitely the GAY. Not because of the fan service, or queerbaiting, or whatever other terms people like using to put down shows.

This is the first anime sports, serious sports mind you, that there’s real gay in it, that is approached beautifully and so realistically. This is breaking norms, rules, and I love it.
